Basic principles
EditionKey NFT Certificates use the Base network and the ERC-721 standard. Use only a self-custody EVM wallet that you control and that can receive NFTs on Base.
The receiving address must begin with 0x and contain 42 characters. EditionKey currently checks the address format and your repeated confirmation, but does not ask the wallet to sign a message proving ownership.
EditionKey pays for the first claim transfer. You do not need to send ETH, pay EditionKey from the receiving wallet, or share a private key or recovery phrase.
- Download only from the wallet's official website or official app-store link.
- Write down or protect the recovery method before using the wallet.
- Select Base and copy the receiving address from the self-custody wallet.
- Compare the complete address twice before binding it to EditionKey.
- Never send a private key, seed phrase or recovery phrase to EditionKey or support.
Wallets covered by these guides
The guides below cover MetaMask, Base App / Base Account, OKX Web3 Wallet, Rainbow, Rabby and Trust Wallet. They are recommended because they provide a self-custody EVM address and support Base.
Other Base-compatible self-custody wallets may receive the certificate, but EditionKey has not yet published a step-by-step guide for every wallet. Contact support before binding an unfamiliar wallet.
Wallets and addresses that are not supported
Do not use an OKX Exchange, Binance Exchange, Coinbase Exchange or other centralized-exchange deposit address. An exchange account is not the same product as its Web3 self-custody wallet, even when the brand name is the same.
Do not use a Bitcoin, Solana, TRON or other non-EVM address; a wallet that does not support Base and ERC-721; a watch-only address; another person's address; or an address whose recovery method you no longer control.
For OKX users, use OKX Web3 Wallet and select Base. Do not copy an address from the OKX Exchange Deposit page.
Before you confirm the claim
Open the wallet yourself, select Base, tap Receive and copy the 0x address. Paste the same complete address into both EditionKey fields.
A completed on-chain transfer is normally irreversible. If the certificate is sent to an exchange deposit address or an address you do not control, EditionKey cannot retrieve it without authorization from that receiving wallet.
