EditionKeyIdentity for Physical Collectibles

How It Works

Reliable handover means physical card plus NFT Certificate.

The physical card is the collectible. The NFT Certificate is its digital proof. For the strongest handover, the buyer should receive the card and control the matching certificate wallet record.

Core handover logic

Most reliable handover

The physical item and the digital certificate point to the same EditionKey Registry record.

Receive the physical card

Compare the Card ID, QR or NFC entry, edition number, approved image and certificate number against the public Registry page.

Control the NFT Certificate

When an NFT Certificate exists, the certificate should be transferred to a wallet the buyer controls. Private keys should never be shared or handed over.

Complete the handover

The strongest result is physical custody plus certificate control, both matching the same EditionKey identity record.

Core handover logic

How to read the handover

Only physical card

The card may still be authentic, but the digital certificate handover is incomplete.

Only NFT Certificate

You control a digital certificate, but that alone does not mean you hold the physical collectible.

Physical card + NFT Certificate

This is the most reliable complete handover: card custody and certificate control move together.

Safety & Policy

EditionKey is a registry and certificate system. It is not a trading marketplace, investment adviser, broker, exchange, or promise of asset value.

Not a marketplace

EditionKey does not provide bidding, trading, price discovery, platform tokens or investment advice.

Certificate, not yield

An NFT Certificate is the physical card's digital certificate. It is not a promise of return, buyback, liquidity or resale value.

Owner needs context

A chain owner can indicate the wallet holding a certificate, but it does not automatically prove custody of the physical item.

Indexed is not endorsed

Indexed Only or candidate records must never be presented as EditionKey endorsement without human review.
