How to use the glossary

Use this glossary when a public page, registry asset, claim workflow or admin review screen shows a term that needs context.

Status labels are intentionally conservative. Pending means work is not complete; it does not mean a hidden promise.

Important interpretation rules

Chain owner does not automatically equal physical holder. Indexed Only does not equal endorsement. NFT Certificate does not equal investment product.

Core

Registry

The EditionKey record system for collectible identities, certificate status and provenance context.

Core

Card ID

The stable identifier printed on a physical card or used in a public verification URL.

Core

Certificate No.

The platform certificate number associated with a registry record.

Certificate

Certificate Artifact

Certificate

artifactHash

A hash of the privacy-safe certificate snapshot used to compare a downloaded copy with the record it was generated from.

Certificate

image2 Decoration

An approved decorative background or border asset that must not contain certificate facts, logos, signatures, card photos, wallets or chain fields.

Certificate

NFT Certificate

The physical card's digital certificate associated with an EditionKey record, not an investment product.

Verification level

Official

An asset confirmed as official by EditionKey or an authorized first-party source.

Verification level

Self-issued

An asset issued by EditionKey or the project entity controlling the record.

Verification level

Partner Verified

A partner or brand record reviewed before public display.

Verification level

Creator Verified

A creator identity or source relationship reviewed by the platform.

Verification level

Indexed Candidate

A private candidate discovered for review; not public approval.

Verification level

Public index data only; not EditionKey endorsement.

A registry record without confirmed chain certificate data.

Chain

Pending Mint

A certificate is planned or awaiting minting.

Claim

Transferred

A certificate transfer has been recorded or completed in the claim workflow.

Chain

A public identifier for a chain transaction.

Privacy

Owner Preview

A shortened wallet display used to avoid exposing the full address in public UI.

Claim

Claim

A card owner's request for admin review and possible certificate transfer.

Claim

Claim Email

An EditionKey invitation sent to the original purchase contact; its secure link signs that email in to My Cards but does not automatically claim or transfer a certificate.

Claim

Claim Link

A secure invitation link that verifies the original purchase email and opens My Cards, valid for 7 days by default.

Claim

Expired Link

A claim link that can no longer continue the claim flow; the expired-link page may let the buyer request a resend with generic success text.

Claim

Email Invitation Session

A one-hour signed-in My Cards session created after a valid email invitation verifies the original purchase email. Opening it does not claim or transfer a certificate.

Claim

Original Purchase Contact

The purchase email or phone sent to EditionKey by the trusted sales channel; resends go to this contact unless support records a reviewed correction.

Shop

Shop Theme

A sales theme for physical cards, with its own shipping and self-pickup configuration.

Shop

Card Unit

One specific physical card inventory unit with a Card ID, Certificate No. and fulfillment status.

Shop

Inventory Lock

A short checkout reservation that holds quantity before payment; it does not assign a specific Card Unit.

Shop

Fulfillment Status

The physical card delivery or pickup state, separate from order payment status and digital certificate claim status.
